Not a cure for sick parishes!
Not a private care plan for elderly vicars!
Not a strategy for giving injections and treatments
Not even traditional nursing or health advice by
people using church premises.

It is….. Churches of all denominations appointing registered nurses with community experience to promote whole person health care in their local communities,
For people of all faiths and none, including an intentional focus on spiritual care.

Parish Nursing Ministries UK is deeply grateful to the following people and organisations that have helped us develop over the last six years

Dr Malcolm Rigler and “Partners in Health”, who together with Anthony Collins Solicitors, organised the first conference and hosted and arranged the first few meetings of the Steering group.

The Barrow Cadbury Trust, who sponsored the first UK conference on Parish Nursing in 2001.

The Baptist Union of Great Britain’s department for Training and Research in Mission, who offered an expenses allowance for a Specialist Mission Networker in Parish Nursing

The members of the Steering Group, who shared the vision and worked together on it.

The Curriculum development group, who have adapted and delivered the introductory training and are continuing to work on the possibilities of further educational pathways.

The Central Baptist Association, who have recognised the mission potential of Parish Nursing for all denominations and encouraged their Regional Minister/Mission Enabler to develop further this aspect of her work.

The Memorial chapel fund of the English Speaking Union, for the awarding to Helen Wordsworth of their 2004 travel grant of £1800 that enabled several nurses to visit Parish nurses in America.

The International Parish Nurse Resource Centre, particularly Professor Phyllis Ann Solari-Twadell and Revd. Deborah Patterson, for their encouragement.

Guy and Carly Sears, who formed the company and enabled the necessary legal processes.
